Whittington Parish SpID's Speed Indicator Devices 

The 2  SpID's that were  installed at each end of the Main Street have now been in service since the 12th of January 2026 reports were taken on 12th March and the traffic reports may be a surprise to some readers.

Traffic recorded that triggered the SpID,s from Kirkby Lonsdale  was in excess of 47000 and the total traffic was 55400 ,the   traffic from Arkholme 32000 triggered the SpID  with a total of 37700 passing through.

85% of the traffic triggered the SpID's at an average speed of 29.8mph 

50% of the traffic triggered the SpID at 25mph.

The average daily traffic over 7 days from Kirkby Lonsdale was 954 and 621 from Arkholme
