Speed Indication Camera Latest Data

20th of May, 2026

Since our last  news 20th  January to 20th March we have encountered  several weeks of closed , partial closed and misinformed traffic signage that do not allow a clear picture of the traffic flow through the Village of Whittington. The data that we do have shows in general that motorists are slowing down through the village when they have been informed of their speed when approaching the SPiD unit from both directions to the village.

Approach speeds of 85% of traffic at  Mackereth Corner  is 29.9 MPH and 31.3 MPH  at Loyne Park

Vehicles recorded  within the parameters set was 37421  at Mackereth Corner and 53570 at Loyne Park

Total Vehicles  passing through  at Mackereth Corner 44025 and 63025 at Loyne Park

50% of the recorded vehicles at Mackereth Corner registered the average of 26.3MPH  and 26.2 MPH at Loyne Park

Your Parish Council do believe that motorists travelling  through the village are taking notice of their current approach speeds, which in turn is having a calming effect on the speeds in the village
